美国竞争情报从业者协会成立于1986年，非盈利的组织，任何从事竞争情报开发和应用的组织都可以加入，目前在全球拥有7000多个成员。

协会由董事会管理，董事会成员包括通过投票产生的干事、12名董事和一名由上任董事长任命的董事。

董事会主席：约翰·E·普赖斯科特(John E．Prescott)博士

美国匹兹堡大学商业管理学院教授，美国竞争情报从业者协会（Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals，简称SCIP）前主席、创始人。竞争情报和战略管理领域的国际专家。1991-1992年担任该协会董事会主席。在大学讲授竞争情报课程长达18年。

研究领域：竞争者分析、网络和竞争情报流程的设计。曾担任《竞争情报评论》杂志8年的执行编辑，现为《竞争情报与管理》杂志的合作编辑。

著作：《竞争情报的进展》、《竞争情报全球展望》和《竞争情报实用战略》。
